Ther
e have been so many items in the international news recently that should give all pro-lifers and people of good will cause for hope.
Probably the most exciting news was the vote in the Polish Parliament on a bill that would give the pre-born child absolute protection. The first reading of the bill was passed 254-151! The world is waiting to see what will happen next and our prayers are with the Polish people in this monumental moment in history.
Also in the news, we find that a US Judge ruled that “human physical life begins when a human ovum is fertilized by a human sperm,” and upheld the Indiana law that women seeking an abortion should be told this information.
Then there are the little day to day victories that each one of us has in defending life, faith and family. They may not have made the 6:00pm news, they may not have been headlines in the newspaper, but each one of us who works to uphold the dignity of human life and of marriage and the family have had small successes. All by the Grace of God.
Unfortunately, there is still so much to be done! We need to work together and never remain silent about the truth! Life, marriage and family are constantly under attack in many ways and from many different people with varying agendas.
We must uphold the traditional family of Mum, Dad and the children as the ideal. We can not accept that it is legitimate for two women or two men to be “married”, as this situation makes a mockery of God and His Bride, the Church. We must remember the wise words of Blessed John Paul II in his Apostolic Exhortation Familiaris Consortio “The future of humanity passes by way of the family.”
We need to stand for human life from the very moment of conception. We need to care for our elderly and sick. We need to accept and love each individual for the great work of art that they are.
