This week on the Pro-Life World View, we bring you interesting articles discussing the battle for legal protection of born-alive aborted babies, and how pro-abortion advocates use and abuse the UN to further their agenda.

Debate fact check: Pro-abortion lie gets a pass in front of 60 million television viewers

During the recent US presidential debate watched by millions, a debate moderator fact-checked Donald Trump, making the misleading claim, “There is not a state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it is born.”

When a baby is born alive after a failed abortion and left to die, it is infanticide.  This practice of deliberate neglect became a hot issue in the US when New York State repealed legal protections for babies who survive abortions – a legislative victory scandalously celebrated by pro-abortion activists and politicians.

Lamentably, the legal situation in New Zealand is no better.  Attempts to provide legal recognition and protection for babies born alive following an induced abortion failed to get the required support in Parliament.

The two articles provided make it abundantly clear that some babies do indeed survive late-term induced abortions. Well-known living examples include Gianna Jessen and founder of the Abortion Survivors Network Melissa Ohden.

UN Abortion Activists Publicly Admit Stealth Plot

Abortion and sexual rights advocates have been working for decades to promote abortion globally. Their tactic has been to insert ambiguous terms and coded language into “every area of UN policy.”

One of the key proponents of this strategy, Julie Garfieldt Kofoed, has stated: “The continuous inclusion of such language in diplomacy not only changes the conversation but also pressures entities to adapt their policies, reflecting a shift in global norms.”

The article exposes a deliberate agenda to pressure more traditionally minded nations (such as most of Africa) into accommodating so-called abortion and sexual rights as a quid pro quo for the UN agency’s aid programmes and funding.

UN committee says abortion is a race issue

UN Committee Says Abortion is a Race Issue

The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) has issued a general recommendation that promotes abortion as a racial equality issue. This committee monitors compliance with the UN human rights treaty against racial discrimination. Their recommendation is a stark example of how the policy by stealth plot described in the previous news summary is acted out.

The article outlines multiple tactics used by abortion advocates to influence how UN committees operate and exercise power over how sovereign states respond.  Even though there is no human right to abortion in any UN treaty, “a growing body of documents framing abortion as a right” has been created to add leverage.
