Pro-Life Month – Day Twenty-Three

“I express my deep appreciation for all those social and pastoral initiatives aimed at combating the socio-economic and cultural mechanisms which lead to abortion, and openly concerned with defending life and promoting the reconciliation and healing of those harmed by the tragedy of abortion.

Initiatives aimed at protecting the essential and primary values of life from its conception, and of the family based on indissoluble marriage between a man and a woman, help to respond to some of today’s most insidious and dangerous threats to the common good. Such initiatives represent, along with many other forms of commitment, essential elements in the building of the civilization of love”.  (Pope Benedict XVI)

  • Make a financial contribution to Family Life Crisis Pregnancy Centre.  Just $1.00 a day for a month is $30.00.  This amount can contribute towards the monthly running costs of our 0800 FOR LIFE phone line which runs 24/7.  $69.00 will purchase a new capsule baby seat.  $120.00 will cover the costs of one Pregnant and Worried sign.

Dear Jesus, help us to spread Your fragrance every where we go.  Flood our souls with Your Spirit and Life.  Penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly that our lives may only be a radiance of Yours.  Shine through us, and be so in us that every soul we come in contact with may feel Your presence in our soul.  Let them look up and see no longer us, but only Jesus.  Stay with us and then we shall begin to shine as You shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.  The light, O Jesus, will be all from You; none of it will be ours.  It will be You, shining on others through us.  Let us thus praise You in the way You love best — by shining on those around us.  Let us preach You without preaching; not by words but by our example;  by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what we do, the evident fullness of the love our hearts bear to You.  Amen.

Adapted from the writings of Blessed John Henry Newman and recited by the Missionaries of Charity.
